Review of Em Chem meeting – 6th May – Horizon 2020

The 3rd EMChem meeting focused on Horizon 2020 funding and its accessibility to companies in the region. The meeting kicked-off with a presentation from Mike Brown of the Enterprise Europe Network (http://een.ec.europa.eu/). Enterprise Europe offers information and guidance on EU policy, programmes and markets, together with business, technology and innovation support. Best of all it’s free of charge! The University of Nottingham’s Research Development Executive, Matt Rackley, gave an informative talk setting out the advantages and practicalities for SMEs looking to work with Universities to secure H2020 funding. The final speaker of the evening was James Fry of Eversheds LLP. He navigated us through the technicalities of consortium agreements, providing an overview of the most important points to consider when forming a consortium. Thank you to everyone for attending, and a special thanks to Eversheds for sponsoring the evening.
